Dr. Lobna Hassan is Associate Professor of Sociotechnical Transitions in Services (tenure-track) at Lappeenranta-Lahti University of Technology, Lahti campus. She leads SIA Lab, a research group dedicated to researching the Sustainability, Inclusivity and Accessibility of technology.
Dr. Hassan received her PhD in 2018 from Hanken School of Economics and her dissertation was awarded Dissertation of the Year 2019 by the Finnish Service Alliance. Following that, she held different positions at University of Turku, Tampere University, and the Center of Excellence in Game Culture Studies.
Prior to her PhD, she received her BSc (2012) and MSc (2014) in Technology Based Management from the German University in Cairo, Egypt with high honours.
Dr. Hassan’s interest are diverse and include, but are not limited to inclusion in the game industry, accessibility of technology, gamification, storification, and civic engagement.
Her research has received funding from various organisations, notably: the Finnish Foundation for Economic Education (Liikesivistysrahasto) and the Finnish cultural foundation (Suomen Kulttuurirahasto).
